For 15 years I worked as a Dangerous Goods Inspector & HSNO enforcement officer with the Police CVIU. Since retiring from the police I have jumped the fence and concentrated on getting companies and staff operating legally. I find it more beneficial to help companies comply rather than have them prosecuted for non compliance.
I created Hazbar Certifications Ltd which was first registered as a company in 2007.
With my previous work, HSNO experience and training I was approved by ERMA, as a registered Test Certifier. ERMA then became known as EPA (Environmental Protection Authority). The HSNO legislation is now administered by WorkSafe NZ.
As of 1st December 2017, all Test Certifiers became Compliance Certifiers under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017
A full list of my qualifications can be found on the WorkSafe website under registered Compliance Certifiers. Qualifications
In March 2013 I was granted further approval to issue Stationary Container System certificates for tanks up to 120,000 litres for above and below ground.
